Video games could replace eye patches for lazy eye treatment

NCT ID NCT03655912

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat lazy eye (amblyopia) using video games on a phone or tablet. Instead of wearing an eye patch, children play games that show different images to each eye, training them to work together. The goal is to improve vision and reduce the chance of lazy eye returning. The study will include 60 people and compare this fun approach to standard patching.
