Blood test may predict which babies need liver transplant
NCT ID NCT05848310
Summary
This study aims to find out if a simple blood test taken before surgery can help predict the long-term outcome for infants with biliary atresia. Researchers will measure a protein called FGF19 in the blood of 200 children who have had surgery for this liver condition. The goal is to see if this test can tell doctors which children are more likely to need a liver transplant later, helping guide better treatment decisions.
