First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study collected and stored blood and tissue samples from over 2,100 people with digestive cancer that spread to the lining of the abdomen. The goal was to create a high-quality biobank for future research on why some patients' cancers resist treatment. No new treatments were tested; instead, the samples will help scientists identify factors that predict treatment success or failure.
