Belly gas study: can a simple blood test predict early hospital release after Weight-Loss surgery?
NCT ID NCT07445230
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study watches 85 adults having laparoscopic weight-loss surgery to see how carbon dioxide gas used during the procedure changes their blood bicarbonate levels. Researchers want to know if these changes can help predict who can go home early, just 48 hours after surgery. No treatments are tested—only routine care is observed.
