First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study observes 85 adults undergoing laparoscopic weight-loss surgery to see how carbon dioxide gas used during the procedure changes blood bicarbonate levels. Researchers want to know if these changes can help predict whether patients are ready to go home 48 hours after surgery. No treatments are tested; the goal is to gather information to improve recovery planning.
