New drug interaction study in healthy men
NCT ID NCT02783040
First seen Apr 17, 2026
Summary
This early-phase study looked at how the experimental drug BI 425809 (iclepertin) changes the way the body processes four common medications: midazolam, warfarin, omeprazole, and digoxin. Thirteen healthy men took these drugs with and without BI 425809 to see if there were any interactions. The goal was to gather safety and dosing information, not to treat any disease.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study will help doctors understand how to safely combine BI 425809 with other common drugs.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small study in healthy men, not patients. It only measures drug levels, not any treatment effect. Results may not apply to women or sick people.
