New ER program aims to catch hidden confusion in seniors
NCT ID NCT05606328
Summary
This study tested a new training program designed to help emergency room nurses better identify delirium, a state of sudden confusion, in older adult patients. The program trained designated 'champion' nurses, who then taught their colleagues. Researchers measured how well the training worked by checking if nurses completed it and used the screening tools correctly on eligible patients.
