Summary
This study tested whether atenolol, a widely used beta blocker, can prevent bone loss in the hip and lower back of postmenopausal women. 420 healthy women aged 50-75 took either atenolol or a placebo. The goal was to see if this common drug could help maintain bone density and reduce fracture risk.
