Gut-Brain link tested for schizophrenia memory boost
NCT ID NCT07359209
Summary
This study is testing if a natural compound called berberine can help improve thinking, memory, and focus in people with schizophrenia who are already on stable medication. Over 12 weeks, 100 participants will take either berberine or a placebo pill, in addition to their regular treatment. Researchers will measure changes in cognitive skills and also look at blood and gut bacteria to understand how berberine might work through the 'gut-brain axis'.
