Mouthrinse fails to stop plaque during brushing break
NCT ID NCT07565766
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a mouthrinse with benzydamine hydrochloride can reduce plaque buildup when people stop brushing for 3 days. Fifty healthy women with no gum disease rinsed with either the active mouthrinse or a placebo. The main goal was to measure plaque on teeth, and the secondary goal was to check gum bleeding. The trial is already complete and tested only short-term effects, not a cure for gum disease.
