First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding belimumab to standard treatment can better control autoimmune hepatitis, a chronic liver disease where the immune system attacks the liver. About 48 adults with active or well-controlled disease will receive weekly belimumab injections for 72 weeks. The goal is to reduce liver inflammation and lower the need for steroids and other immune-suppressing drugs.
