NCT ID NCT07666685
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether daily beetroot extract, with or without a tailored exercise program, can improve blood pressure, physical performance, and thinking skills in adults aged 75 and older. 120 participants will be split into four groups to compare the effects. The goal is to find practical, low-cost ways to support healthy aging.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- beetroot extract
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, low-cost supplement to help older adults maintain heart health, physical function, and mental sharpness.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage trial with only 120 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Beetroot extract is generally safe, but benefits may be small or not seen at all.
