Texts and walks: new study aims to ease arthritis pain for underserved communities

NCT ID NCT06932887

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests two ways to help people with osteoarthritis manage their pain: sending text messages to encourage physical activity counseling, and supporting them to join a walking program called Walk with Ease. The goal is to see which approach works best for people in communities that often have less access to care. About 346 adults aged 45 and older with osteoarthritis in the lower body or spine are taking part.
