Summary

This study tests a traditional Chinese medicine called Bovis Calculus Stativus (cultivated bezoar) to see if it can safely improve consciousness in people who have had a severe stroke. About 220 adults with acute ischemic stroke and impaired consciousness will receive either the medicine or a placebo for 5 days. Researchers will track their recovery over 90 days to measure improvements in consciousness and overall function.
