Old TB vaccine tested as potential Game-Changer for kids with diabetes
NCT ID NCT05180591
Summary
This study is testing whether giving the BCG vaccine (typically used against tuberculosis) multiple times can help children with type 1 diabetes better control their blood sugar. Researchers will enroll 150 children and teens, giving them either the BCG vaccine or a placebo shot, then follow them for five years. The goal is to see if the vaccine can improve long-term blood sugar levels and reduce the need for insulin.
