Veterans' skin cancer prevention trial launches with 1,630 participants

Summary
This study tests whether a cream called imiquimod can prevent new basal cell carcinoma (a common skin cancer) on the face in veterans at high risk. About 1,630 veterans will apply either the cream or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. Researchers will track how many develop new skin cancers over one and three years.
