Can your body shape predict IBD drug success?

NCT ID NCT07162701

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study watches how body composition (muscle and fat) changes in 48 adults with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's or colitis) who start a new medication. Researchers use a simple, painless test called bioelectrical impedance to measure these changes over a year. The goal is to see if these measurements can help predict which patients will respond well to treatment. No new treatments are tested—only standard care is given.
