New balance training aims to reduce falls in stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT07404371

First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether balance exercises that challenge the senses (like closing eyes or standing on uneven surfaces) can improve balance and reduce fall risk in people who had a stroke more than 6 months ago. 46 participants will be split into two groups: one gets the special sensory training, the other gets standard balance exercises, both for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure balance and fall risk before and after the program.
