NCT ID NCT04846803

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether harmless E. coli bacteria can outcompete the harmful ones that cause urinary tract infections (UTIs). Researchers will give 80 people with recurrent UTIs either the friendly bacteria or a placebo, then track how many infections occur. The goal is to find a new way to prevent UTIs without relying on antibiotics.
