First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether harmless E. coli bacteria can prevent recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in adults who have not been helped by standard treatments. Researchers will give participants either the friendly bacteria or a placebo and track how many UTIs occur over time. The goal is to find a new way to prevent infections and reduce antibiotic use.
