New hydrogel aims to stop radiation burns in breast cancer patients

Summary
This study tests a hydrogel made from bacteria and a natural compound to prevent severe skin burns caused by radiation therapy. It involves 54 Filipino women with breast cancer who have completed surgery and chemotherapy. Participants will apply either the hydrogel or a placebo cream during and after radiation to see if the hydrogel reduces the risk of high-grade skin damage.
