First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether a hydrogel made from bacterial cellulose and monolaurin can prevent severe skin burns caused by radiation therapy in Filipino women with breast cancer. About 54 participants who have completed surgery and chemotherapy will apply either the hydrogel or a placebo cream during and after radiation. The goal is to see if the hydrogel reduces the number of patients who develop high-grade skin damage.
