Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients on breathing machines develop pneumonia. Researchers will collect fluid from the lungs of 75 adults in intensive care and analyze specific immune cells called B lymphocytes. The goal is to learn more about how the body fights infection in this setting, not to test a new treatment.
