First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding the antibiotic azithromycin to usual treatment can shorten hospital stays for people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) who are having a sudden flare-up. About 1000 adults with mild or early-moderate IPF will take part. Researchers will compare those who get azithromycin plus standard care to those who get standard care alone.
