New scan may find hidden prostate cancer when standard test fails

NCT ID NCT05722925

First seen Nov 16, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special PET scan called Axumin can find prostate cancer that has returned after treatment, in patients whose usual PSMA PET scan was negative. About 50 adults with rising PSA levels will get an Axumin scan. The goal is to see if this scan spots the cancer and changes how doctors manage the disease.
