Summary
This study tested a drug called avatrombopag in 19 Japanese adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system destroys platelets, raising bleeding risk. Participants took the drug for 26 weeks to see if it could safely increase platelet counts to safer levels. The goal was to manage the disease long-term, not cure it.
