New drug AV-001 tested for severe pneumonia in hospital patients

Summary

This study tests an investigational drug called AV-001 in people hospitalized with pneumonia caused by COVID-19 or other respiratory infections. The goal is to see if AV-001 is safe and helps patients recover faster when added to standard care. About 120 participants will receive either AV-001 or a placebo daily until hospital discharge or day 28.
