Smart ventilator aims to get patients breathing on their own faster
NCT ID NCT04593810
Summary
This study tested whether a new, automated setting on hospital breathing machines could help patients in intensive care get off the ventilator sooner. It compared this 'smart' automated mode to the standard, manually adjusted settings used by doctors and nurses. The goal was to see if the automated system could reduce the number of days patients needed breathing support and improve the quality of their breathing while on the machine.
