New breathing tube method may reduce sore throat after surgery
NCT ID NCT07017205
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study compares two ways of managing breathing tube pressure during surgery: automatic versus manual. The goal is to see if automatic control reduces fluid leakage into the lungs and leads to fewer sore throats or voice changes. About 72 adults having surgery lasting at least one hour will take part. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods, and researchers will measure leakage using a safe blue dye and ask about throat symptoms after surgery.
