New drug tested to tame rogue immune system attacking the liver

NCT ID NCT05569759

Summary

This study tested whether adding an investigational drug called zetomipzomib to standard steroid therapy could better control autoimmune hepatitis. It involved 24 adults whose liver disease was still active despite standard care. Participants received weekly injections of either the drug or a placebo for 24 weeks, with an option for continued treatment.
