Can a new therapy combo help nonverbal kids with autism find their voice?

NCT ID NCT04218331

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a specific speech therapy (PROMPT) to a standard play-based therapy (JASPER) helps young children with autism who speak very few words. Researchers want to see if this combination helps children learn to combine words by the time they start kindergarten. About 56 children, aged 3.5 to 5.5 years old, will receive one of the two therapy plans for 12 weeks to compare the results.
