First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested a noninvasive brain stimulation technique called Auditory Control Enhancement (ACE) to see if it could help people with schizophrenia who still hear voices despite medication. Twelve participants received either real or fake (sham) stimulation during cognitive training. The study was terminated early, so results are limited, but researchers aimed to measure brain changes and whether the approach was acceptable and feasible.
