Heart rhythm study tests new mapping method to reduce repeat procedures

NCT ID NCT03915691

Summary

This study compares two methods doctors use to perform a heart ablation procedure for atrial tachycardia, a condition causing fast, irregular heartbeats. Researchers want to see if a newer, more precise mapping technique leads to better long-term results by preventing the problem from coming back. About 200 patients having the standard ablation procedure will be randomly assigned to receive either the newer or the conventional mapping approach, then followed for one year to track any recurrence.
