Heart rhythm breakthrough? new mapping technique aims to cut recurrence rates

NCT ID NCT03915691

Summary

This study compares two different approaches for performing a catheter ablation procedure to treat atrial tachycardia, a condition causing fast, irregular heartbeats. Researchers want to see if a newer mapping technique called Ripple Mapping leads to better long-term results by more precisely targeting the problem area. About 200 patients will have either the newer or conventional approach, then be followed for one year to see which method better prevents the fast heartbeats from returning.
