Heart scar treatment tested in major atrial fibrillation trial
NCT ID NCT04377594
Summary
This study compares two catheter ablation procedures for people with persistent atrial fibrillation (AFib). Researchers want to see if adding treatment for scarred heart tissue to the standard procedure works better at controlling irregular heart rhythms. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the standard ablation or the standard plus scar tissue ablation, then followed for two years to track their heart rhythm and quality of life.
