First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares three different surgical ablation techniques (Cox-Maze IV, Tampa 2, and EnCompass alone) to treat atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder. About 220 adults with a history of atrial fibrillation who are already scheduled for heart surgery will take part. The main goal is to see which method best keeps the heart in normal rhythm one year after surgery.
