Cooling tube protects food pipe during heart procedure

NCT ID NCT06354777

Summary

This study looks at whether cooling the esophagus (food pipe) during a heart procedure to treat atrial fibrillation reduces complications and improves results. Researchers are following 312 patients who had this cooling technique during their procedure to see if it helps prevent damage to the esophagus, reduces procedure time, and improves long-term heart rhythm control. The study is part of a larger registry tracking outcomes for atrial fibrillation treatments.
