First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 31, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tests whether atorvastatin, a widely used cholesterol medication, can prevent melanoma from returning or spreading in people who have had high-risk melanoma surgically removed. About 150 adults with stage IIA, IIB, or IIIA melanoma will receive either atorvastatin or a placebo for several years. The goal is to see if the drug can block the cancer's spread by reducing tumor cell movement and boosting the immune system.
