Asthma breakthrough: tiny particles may reach deep lung inflammation

NCT ID NCT00203684

First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at inflammation in the small airways of the lungs in people with mild to moderate asthma. Researchers tested whether an inhaled steroid with small particles could reduce that inflammation better than one with large particles. 57 adults took part, using lung function tests, scans, and tissue samples to measure changes. The goal was to understand how different medications affect hard-to-reach areas of the lungs.
