First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a person's muscle strength can help doctors choose the right asthma inhaler. 80 newly diagnosed asthma patients were randomly given either a dry powder inhaler or a metered dose inhaler. Researchers measured lung function, breathing muscle strength, and handgrip strength before and after one month of treatment to see which device worked best for each patient.
