One-Shot radiation may offer faster pain relief for advanced cancer patients

NCT ID NCT04068649

First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single, highly targeted dose of radiation (SBRT) works better than standard radiation for relieving pain and improving quality of life in people whose cancer has spread. About 1,500 participants with metastatic cancer will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see if the shorter, more precise approach can provide faster symptom relief with fewer side effects.
