Scientists craft First-Ever 'Report Card' for tech that helps paralyzed patients use computers

NCT ID NCT07407725

Summary

This study aims to create a standardized scoring system to measure how well assistive technologies and brain-computer interfaces help people with severe motor impairments use computers and phones. Researchers will enroll 60 participants, including people with spinal cord injuries, ALS, and healthy volunteers, to test different devices on simulated daily digital tasks. The goal is to develop a reliable tool that clinicians can use to objectively compare technologies and understand their real-world benefits for digital independence.
