First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether daily aspirin and high-dose statins can prevent heart attacks, strokes, and other serious heart events in people aged 40–70 with severe coronary artery calcium (score ≥300). About 5,000 participants will be randomly assigned to take aspirin or not, and a strong statin or a standard one. The goal is to find the best prevention strategy for this high-risk group.
