First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether daily aspirin and high-intensity statins can prevent heart attacks, strokes, and other serious heart events in people aged 40-70 with severe coronary calcium (score ≥300). About 5,000 participants will be randomly assigned to take aspirin or not, and a strong statin or a lower dose, to see which combination works best. The goal is to find the safest and most effective way to protect high-risk individuals from future cardiovascular problems.
