Herbal hope: ashwagandha trial targets stress in LGBTQ+ community

NCT ID NCT07441070

First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether a natural herb called ashwagandha can help reduce stress, anxiety, and improve sleep in LGBTQ+ adults who face ongoing stress due to stigma or discrimination. About 80 adults aged 18-45 will take either ashwagandha capsules or a placebo for 8 weeks, and researchers will track changes using questionnaires and stress hormone levels. The goal is to find a safe, non-drug option to support mental well-being in this group.
