First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested a device called the AMS 800 Artificial Urinary Sphincter in 145 men who had stress urinary incontinence (leaking urine) after prostate surgery. The goal was to see if the device could reduce urine leakage by at least half after one year. The device is surgically implanted and helps control urine flow, but it requires ongoing management and does not cure the condition.
