New hope for rare, painful tumors: targeted chemo shows promise
NCT ID NCT06268457
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a procedure called arterial chemoembolization for people with desmoid tumors that are growing and causing pain. The treatment delivers a chemotherapy drug (doxorubicin) directly into the tumor's blood supply to shrink it and reduce pain, while limiting side effects to the rest of the body. The study will enroll 20 adults whose tumors cannot be treated with surgery or freezing, and will measure changes in tumor size, pain levels, and quality of life.
