Scientists track 7,500 people for 16 years to unlock secrets of aging arteries
NCT ID NCT06079424
Summary
This study aims to understand how arteries naturally stiffen and age over more than a decade, and how that relates to future heart disease. Researchers are re-examining 7,500 healthy volunteers 12-16 years after their first check-up, using detailed ultrasound scans to measure changes in their arteries. The goal is to identify what factors speed up arterial aging and better predict who is most at risk for heart problems.
