Heart monitoring breakthrough: 14-Day patch may spot hidden risks in common valve condition
NCT ID NCT06378996
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests whether wearing a heart monitor for 14 days (instead of the usual 24 hours) can better detect dangerous heart rhythms in people with mitral valve prolapse, a common valve condition. About 60 adults with MVP will wear a patch monitor at home. The goal is to see how often abnormal rhythms occur day-to-day and whether longer monitoring finds more cases. This is a pilot study to help design a larger future trial.
