First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether aromatherapy (using essential oils) can help reduce pain for women during labor. 94 first-time mothers with a single baby and no major complications were randomly assigned to receive either aromatherapy along with standard pain control or standard pain control alone. Researchers measured pain levels at different stages of labor and how much extra pain medication was requested.
